Six-yr-old differently-abled child sexually assaulted

New Delhi: A six-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by a cab driver in South West Delhi's Palam area on August 23. Investigators suspect that the accused had taken the cab to an isolated place where he committed the incident and then threatened the girl to not disclose the incident to anyone.

Police claimed that the case was reported to them on Monday and during the investigation, they have arrested the accused.

According to police, the victim's father approached the Palam police station on Monday where he alleged that case his daughter was sexually harassed.

The incident took place on Thursday and the girl narrated the episode to her mother, stating that she was sexually assaulted by the cab driver at a secluded spot, after which she started crying and told her mother that she will not travel with the same driver again.

Soon after the case was filed, the accused was detained by police for further investigation and later he was arrested, said a police officer.

He was identified as 26-year-old Monu who lives in the Trilokpuri area. He was driving the cab for a private school in the city. Reports were also coming that the family also alleged that when the complaint was made in the school, the school did not take any action.

Police sources claimed that during investigations they found that the driver might have stopped the vehicle and molested her. The accused later threatened the girl not to disclose the incident to anyone otherwise she will face dire consequences and then the victim dropped her a few meters away from her house and left.

The police are also investigating that whether the accused had committed similar acts with other kids as there are more than 10 students who use his cab service.
