Six nabbed in Gr Noida after gun battle with cops

GREATER NOIDA: Gautam Buddh Nagar police on Monday foiled a robbery attempt and arrested six persons from Kasna area in Greater Noida, after a brief gun battle.
"We received a tip-off that the criminals were planning a heist in Greater Noida. Police teams were stationed near Chuhadpur underpass to carry out the operation. The six criminals were travelling in a WagonR car and two motor cycles," said Suniti Singh, Superintendent of police (Rural), Gautam Buddh Nagar.
The arrested criminals were identified as Kuldeep, Narendra, Ravindra, Surjeet, Sunil and Jitendra.
Police have recovered three pistols, three knifes, several live cases of ammunitions, two motorcycles and one car from their possession.
"When we stopped their car, they opened fire on the police team. After a brief crossfire, we managed to nab the criminals. Three criminals received bullet injuries and are getting treatment at the hospital. A cop from Kasna police station also received injuries. His condition is stable now" said Jitendra Singh, SHO, Kasna.
"Around nine cases of loot, Arms act and attempt to murder have been registered against the accused in various police stations of Gautam Buddh Nagar," Singh added.
