Six nabbed for 'honey trapping' youth, killing him in Tughlakabad

New Delhi: A 29-year-old man and five of his associates – including two girls – conspired to kill a youth in south east Delhi's Tughlakabad area, police said on Friday, adding that the four men have been arrested while the girls have been apprehended
The arrested accused have been identified as prime accused Shivkumar (29), Ravi (20), Sumit (20), Parvez (23), all of whom were nabbed from south east Delhi.
Cops said that the murder of Neeraj was an act of revenge, planned after Shivkumar and his mother were beaten up by Neeraj and the relatives of a woman whom he was in love with. The whole conspiracy was hatched, after seeing a TV show, police added.
Cops said that, on May 6, a youth's partially burnt body, with multiple stab wounds and a slit throat, was found in Tughlakabad jungle. Based on a tattoo on his right arm, Neeraj was identified to be the victim.
"During investigation, it was found that the deceased was in a relationship with a girl – one of the two accused girls – for the last 10-15 days. On May 6, she had called Neeraj to meet her," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (South East) Chinmoy Biswal on Friday.
Neeraj and his friend Manoj reached Tughlakabad Fort on that day to meet the girl, who was accompanied by the other accused girl, the DCP said.
In the process of their investigation, cops zeroed in on the second accused girl. During interrogation, she disclosed that Shivkumar's minor sister had enticed Neeraj into a relationship with her, with the intention of later killing him.
Eventually, "all the accused were apprehended and the weapon used in the crime was also recovered from Shivkumar," said the DCP.
A senior police officer said that Shivkumar revealed during interrogation that he was in love with Manoj's paternal aunt and wanted to marry her.
However, the woman's marriage was fixed at another place.
On April 19, Shivkumar and his mother went to the woman's residence in Faridabad, asking her to marry him and call off her wedding.
He also threatened the family of dire consequences, if she went ahead with the marriage.
"In the ensuing quarrel, Manoj and Neeraj, who were present at the spot, beat up both Shivkumar and his mother," said the police officer.
The accused further told cops that the beating of his mother infuriated him, and formulated a plan to trap Neeraj and Manoj.
He told his sister to first trap Neeraj into a relationship with her, and then lure him and Manoj to Tughlakabad Fort, where they could be killed.
"Manoj escaped the spot and saved himself, but Neeraj was not lucky. After the accused killed him, they and tried to burn his body to conceal his identity," said the DCP.
