Situation in campus peaceful: JNU tells high court

New Delhi: The JNU administration on Thursday told the Delhi High Court that there was peace in the campus, as classes were going smoothly and nobody is agitating, as of now, against the decision to make 75 per cent attendance mandatory for all students.
The varsity's submission came on a query posed by Justice Rekha Palli as to what was the status of protests by students and teachers in the campus. "It is peaceful now. Nobody is agitating. Classes are going on smoothly," central government standing counsel Monika Arora, appearing for JNU said.
The court had earlier termed as "unfortunate and sad" the holding of classes on stairs in the campus.
