Shankar Chowk underpass may bring relief to pubs

The completion of Shankar Chowk underpass on the National highway 8 may be a healing balm for many pubs owners at the cyber hub.

With the Shankar Chowk underpass now functional, the range has increased beyond 500 metres for the pubs which therefore allows the pubs to serve alcoholic beverages. On Tuesday, the district monitoring that comprises of various public agencies measured the distance to specify the range of pubs and bars to be allowed for serving alcoholic beverages.

To increase motorable distance, the pub owners have also closed their main entrances and opened the back entrances.

With the underpass increasing range to over 1000 metres most of the owners who had filed an affidavit with the district administration for measurement can heave a sigh of relief.
