Several DANICS officials promoted as VAT officers in Trade and Tax dept

NEW DELHI: A day after the Delhi government's General Administration Department (GAD) of cancelled the appointment of nine advisers and consultants, the Services Department issued transfer and posting orders of several DANICS officers with immediate effect on Wednesday.

According to the notification, Deputy Secretary (GAD) Promila Mitra, Deputy Secretary Manoj Kumar, Deputy Secretary (GAD, Finance) Shiv Kumar Gupta, Deputy Secretary (GAD, Home) Alok Garg, Deputy Secretary (GAD, Home) Anju Mangla and Deputy Secretary (GAD, Finance) Manoj Sharma have been transferred to Trade and Tax department as VAT officers.

It is pertinent to mentioned that Aam Aadmi Party-led Delhi government does not have the power to transfer officers of the IAS and DANICS cadre.

The Lieutenant Governor's office issued the transfer and posting on Wednesday.

Sources in AAP claimed that the above-mentioned GAD staff were promoted within a day of cancellation of the AAP government's advisers and consultants.

However, the GAD officials denied the charge, claiming it to be routine reshufflling.

On Tuesday, 87 DANICS officers were transferred to different departments of the Delhi government, but at least 35 officers have been transferred to Trade and Tax department as VAT officers – a department valued by several officers.
