Seven wanted criminals held in two encounters in Greater Noida

Greater Noida: At least seven wanted criminals were arrested in two different police encounters in Greater Noida on Monday, with cops adding that four criminals and a constable of crime branch sustained injuries in these two incidents.
In the first incident, police shot at three accused around 1.12 am on Monday near Pakshi Vihar colony in Surajpur area of Greater Noida.
The arrested accused were identified as Vikram and Bhola, natives of Khurja area in Bulandshahr district.
"We received information on that three criminals were fleeing on a motorcycle after committing a robbery at HDFC bank ATM in village Dewla. A team was pressed into action and, during the chase, the criminals opened fire. We fired in retaliation and the bullet hit two criminals in leg. However, their accomplices Akash fled ," said Pankaj Rai, station house officer, Surajpur police station.
"The accused confessed to have come here to commit the ATM robbery. A case under IPC sections 511, 427, 461 among others has been registered against them. We are searching various locations to nab their partner," added Rai.
Two illegal .315 mm pistol, three cases of live ammunitions and tools used to cut the ATM machine were seized from the possession of the accused.
In another encounter, Bisrakh police arrested five men who allegedly fired at a police party at Khairpur roundabout.
The arrested accused were identified as Anil Kumar, Arjun Verma, Jitender Verma, Premkumar Verma and Nazruddin.
The Crime Branch had received a tip-off about the accused robbing passengers in their car by offering them lift.
During the encounter, constable Narender Singh and two of the accused were injured.
