Seven patients cured of COVID-19 in GB Nagar

GB Nagar: Seven more patients suffering from COVID-19 have been cured and sent to their homes from various hospitals in Gautam Buddh Nagar district on Friday. The administration has also removed one area from the list of hotspots while two new areas were added to the list after new positive cases were reported on Thursday.

"On Friday, no new case of positive Covid-19 was reported from GB Nagar district while a total of 46 reports were received and all were negative. Another 96 samples were collected and sent to laboratory for testing, reports of which are expected by Saturday," said Sunil Dohare, District Surveillance Officer, GB Nagar.

"So far, 1,925 samples have been taken for COVID-19 test from the district and 92 of them have tested positive. The active number of Covid cases in GB Nagar are 59 as the total number is patients discharged after getting cured remained 33 out of 92 cases," Dohare added.

The administration has also traced 1920 travellers while around 1,222 suspects are under surveillance. Officials said that nearly 12 lakhs 46 thousand persons have been screened till now in the district.

"4036 Teams comprising of officials from health department, district administration and volunteers have been deployed who have visited nearly 3 lakhs 90 thousand houses to screen people and raising awareness in a concerted door-to-door campaign. Around 1030 other travellers have also been identified through cluster containment activity and all of them are under surveillance. A total of 595 persons are in institutional quarantine" informed a senior administrative officer.

Meanwhile, the Gautam Buddh Nagar administration has identified 28 hotspots across Noida and Greater Noida. "Alpha-I sector in Greater Noida from where one case was reported earlier has been removed from the list of hotspots as no new case has been reported from the area in last 28 days from the date of sampling. Two other areas identified as sector 20 in Noida and sector Gamma-I in

Greater Noida have been added to the list of hotspots after two separate cases were reported from these areas," a statement issued by district administration stated.
