Serve the needy, says LG at IP Univ Convocation

"Serve the needy and contribute to community and society at large. It is the real objective of education. The basic purpose of education is not merely joining the work force but social, cultural, intellectual and academic development," said Anil Baijal, LG of Delhi on Friday.

He was speaking at the 12th Convocation of IP University organised at Dwarka campus of the University. "Education provides us creativity, critical thinking, social responsibility and other qualities. Convocation is not a culmination but another stepping stone towards a real world. While designing syllabus at university level, life, work, citizenship like things need to be taken care of. Industry requirements also need to be considered for better enjoyability of students," added the LG. Delivering the Convocation address, the eminent academician Padma Bhushan Prof S K Joshi, former Director General of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) emphasised on artificial intelligence in present context.
