Security guard records video before hanging himself
New Delhi: A security guard who committed suicide on Thursday at a government school in Outer North Delhi's Swaroop Nagar recorded his dying statement before taking the extreme step. He also left a four-page suicide note in which he alleged that the family of the minor boy who allegedly raped his niece in October last year forced him to end his life.
The 26-year-old man identified as Shyam Singh has made a mobile video and has accused the boy's family members along with a woman to have assaulted his sister and himself. The two families are neighbours. The man said that he is committing suicide as there is no option left with him and asked the police to take strict action against the accused. The man recorded his statement just before hanging himself and is seen whispering clear enough to be heard by the mobile phone microphone.
Police said a school employee arrived around 7 am and found the security guard hanging. The police rushed the man to Babu Jagjivan Ram hospital where he was declared brought dead. The man in his suicide note has also alleged police inaction after the victim and his family members reached the Swaroop Nagar police station for a formal complaint.
On Wednesday afternoon, the guard's brother said, the boy's family started quarrelling with his sister over giving way to a supply truck in the lane. Police are now investigating the case, the body has been sent for the postmortem and the video footage is being examined. The suicide note is also being looked at. The victim has allegedly mentioned 16 names in the suicide note. He also said that the accused tried to frame him by allegedly filing a complaint against him. Police are trying to talk to the neighbours to get some clear picture of the chronology of the incidents. Various facts are being examined along with the authenticity of the suicide note and the investigation being done.
