Security guard brutally thrashed; two arrested

Ghaziabad: A 45-year-old security guard of a residential society in Sahibabad area of Ghaziabad was brutally thrashed by a group of men after he tried to stop the group from playing loud music inside their flat as the other residents were getting disturbed.
Police have registered an FIR against 12 men in the case and arrested two of them on Monday. The guard who has been admitted to GTB hospital in Delhi is in a critical condition, said the police.
According to the police, the victim identified as Vinod Kumar, a gunman with GSIS security agency, was on his duty at the main gate of the Shalimar City Apartments. In the wee hours of Sunday, the security guard received several calls from the residents about other residents of a flat creating nuisance in the society by playing loud music and drinking in the balcony area. Following the complaint, some of the security guards and the gunman went to their house to request them to lower the sound as the residents were getting troubled.
"They initially stopped the music but later came to the guard room which is near the society gate and snatched the wooden sticks from their hands and attacked the guards and even vandalized the entire guard room. Kumar was brutally beaten," said Pakanj Singh, the security head of the society.
Doctors of GTB hospital have stated Kumar's condition to be critical and said that he has 6 stitches on his left ear and a fracture in his hip and right leg. The police on Monday arrested two of the accused and sent them to jail.
"We have registered a case under section 147 (rioting), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 308 (Attempt to commit culpable homicide), 504 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) of the Indian Penal code. Two named accused Manish Singh and Aman have been arrested and sent to jail. While teams have been formed to arrest the other accused," said Akash Tomar, Superintendent of Police (City).
