SDMC throws open Kalkaji multi-level parking

South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) on Friday threw open the newly-constructed Kalkaji multi-level Parking.

SDMC officials stated that the parking lot was constructed at a cost of Rs 38 crore and will accommodate 406 vehicles at one time. The parking lot has been built over a covered area of around 14,000 sq m, with three levels, namely ground, basement 1 and basement 2.

SDMC Mayor Shyam Sharma said that with the opening of new parking lot, which has a modern spacious structure, residents and traders of Kalkaji and nearby colonies will be benefitted.

The lot is equipped with a sprinkler system, exhaust fans and ducts for fresh air. The Mayor announced that he will inaugurate three or four such parking lot in a few days. He added that for the construction of the Kalkaji lot, modern techniques were used by the Corporation.

For the convenience of the residents, a park has also been developed over the lot. SDMC will further develop the park and add extra structures, such as a gazebo and an open gym.Local MP Ramesh Bidhuri was also present.
