SDMC takes measures to monitor steps taken to curb spread of COVID-19
New Delhi: SDMC Commissioner Gyanesh Bharti, on Friday chaired a meeting with concerned departments to review and monitor the situation and preparation to tackle the outbreak of Coronavirus where he instructed all the officials to remain super active
and effectively implement an action plan to combat this dangerous virus.
He also directed the public Health department to provide 30,000 N-95 masks to doctors, nurses and medical staff within 48 hours. He said that the department will procure a new mask every day for the next 15 days for the medical staff.
Bharti said that an intensive awareness campaign will be started to create awareness and educate the citizens about Coronavirus. Posters, stickers and hoardings will be installed at 800 public toilets and CTCs for creating mass awareness among the people. He further said that special counters will be set up at all the hospitals and dispensaries to treat the patients of fever, cold and cough. Special arrangements will also be made to isolate the patients who show symptoms of Coronavirus.
The Commissioner also said that the corporation has issued guidelines to
CSB (Citizen Service Bureau) and property tax collection centres in all zones to avoid overcrowding at the counters and make arrangements to issue token instead of queues as a preventive measure against Coronavirus. He also gave instruction to the Health officers to conduct special training for teachers and other SDMC employees about sanitising and disinfecting. The Commissioner also instructed the Health officers to keep an eye on the situation and submit a daily report.
