SDMC takes action against air pollution violators
New Delhi: South Delhi Municpial Corporation (SDMC) has been taking regular actions against violators of NGT (National Green Tribunal) and Solid Waste Managament (SWM) norms.
According to an official SDMC data, a total of 184 challans were issued, while an amount of Rs. 55000 was imposed on the violators, on October 28. Meanwhile, about 211 violations were found by SDMC. Anyone burning garbage or any other sort of biomass is a violator. This category also includes emissions from construction activities, construction and demolition in dumping, road dust and air emissions from industries.
In Dwarka sector – 8 area, the inspecting team found repairs of roads and waste lifting violations. Meanwhile, water was sprinkled in the hotspot area, especially with air quality in Delhi reaching "severe" category. The maximum challans were issued in the "road dust" category. SDMC has been night patrolling, while inspecting teams are vigilant and taking stringent actions against anyone violating the rules. The actions are being taken in the wake of increasing air pollution in the national Capital.
