SDMC school students perform Yoga with Delhi MPs

New Delhi: Hundreds of students of SDMC primary schools on Friday incredibly performed different Asanas on the 5th International Yoga Day celebration organized at Talkatora Stadium. Their perfect performances reflected the kind of holistic training given to them, their regular practice and skill developed in the last month. Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari and West Delhi MP Pravesh Sahib Singh Verma attended the event as Chief Guests. Mayor Sunita Kangra was also present at the celebrations.

Tiwari in his address appreciated the SDMC for providing the best Yoga training to its students. He added that students have earned excellence and have been inspiring all of us to follow them to learn Yoga. "India's centuries-old tried and trusted System of Yoga is now being practiced in all parts of the world," he said.

Speaking at the event, West Delhi MP Verma said, "India is possessing knowledge and skill in abundance and has been gifting valuable mantras like the zero and the decimal point to the world. And the latest gift from India to the world is Yoga, an age-old perfect system of keeping life fit, active and healthy without investing any amount at all. The Yoga ensures a disease free life and also rules out any possibility of hospitalization."

Kangra said foreigners have also understood the very fact that it is time to make Yoga a habit in their daily life. She said, "The regular practice of Yoga can bring positive energy apart from generating synergy between the mind and body to regulate daily routine." The students displayed their excellence by performing various Asanas such as the Arasana, Trikonasana, Shashankasan, Dandasan, Vajrasana, Bhujangasan, Makrasan, Setubandahasan, Shavasan and also practiced Pranayam.
