SDMC removes encroachment in South zone

New Delhi: South MCD undertook an anti-encroachment drive at Vasant Kunj near DDA Sports Complex, Masjid Moth near Jain Mandir, Pushp Vihar and the surrounding areas in South Zone on Monday. During the action, 72 articles have been seized, seven temporary structures-chappars have been demolished and 15 bamboos, 20 old tyres and 12 tools have been seized apart from the removal of one tea vendor and three motor mechanics. Nearly 6-km road and 150-meter area have been retrieved.
In Central Zone, encroachment removal action was undertaken at Bhishm Pitamah Marg wherein 32 extended tharas and stairs and 25 chappars have been demolished and 40 items were seized. Apart from this, 4-km footpath has been cleared for pedestrians.
The drive in West Zone was undertaken from Raja Garden-Basi Darapaur chowk to Janakpuri East metro station along the Najafgarh road. During the action, 14 vehicles and 10 items were seized.
An encroachment removal action has been undertaken at Madhu Vihar, Sadh Nagar, Manglapuri, Sabzi Mandi, Krishnapuri chowk and Sagarpur under the Najafgarh Zone. Encroachments were removed from both sides of the roads from a stretch of 8-km covering encroachment over 2,700 sq feet of land which got vacated.
