SDMC Mayor awards teachers for their contribution in education

New Delhi: The South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) on Thursday organised "Zonal Teacher Honor Ceremony" at the Civic Centre to recognise the outstanding contribution of teachers in education, inspiring young minds and fire imaginations. At the event, Mayor Sunita Kangra awarded four principals, 17 primary teachers and four school staffs.

Addressing the audience, the Mayor said that teachers also need motivation and encouragement from the community and their endless devotion towards student's education must be appreciated. Meanwhile, she also urged the teachers to spread awareness and disseminate information about the precautionary measures of Coronavirus.

Chairperson of Education Committee Nandini Sharma, who was also present at the event, said that awardees are selected through a proper selection procedure, which comprises evaluation by zonal education officers.
