New Delhi: In an order to curb pollution across the capital, South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) on Friday added 16 road sweeping machines and 40 water tankers in its existing fleet. Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and Delhi LG Anil Baijal, while flagging off the fleet, hoped that the move will not only help in reducing pollution but also ensuring cleanliness of the city.
After flagging off the vehicles, Puri said that Rs 300 crore was provided by his ministry under Swachh Bharat Mission to acquire the new vehicles. He said the corporations have made sincere efforts to procure longer lasting quality vehicles.
