SDMC floats 'World on Wheels' bus for local Primary School
New Delhi: Leader of the House in the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC), Kamaljeet Sehrawat on Friday started the facility of a fully technologically-equipped school bus for the students at the Pochanpur Primary School. The bus, which is fully air-conditioned has been coined as the World on Wheels Bus, because of its design, which has 30 personal computers for students to use on their to or from school.
BJP's Sehrawat said the bus was equipped with state-of-the-art technology designed by HP and Marelli and was built with help from the Society for All Round Development (SARD). The computer systems have e-content from Grade 1 to Grade 5 with the e-pathshala system, supported by NCERT. They are also equipped with an assessment tool, cameras, Wi-Fi routers, solar energy power back-up and a digital blackboard. The SDMC councillor said that this type of support will definitely enhance learning experience and teachers will be equipped to use the e-content to address difficult concepts and prepare them for larger scale assessments.
