SDMC extends last date for property tax payment

New Delhi: South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) has extended the last date for depositing property tax from June 30 to July 15.

SDMC Mayor Narender Chawla on Saturday stated that the decision has been taking into consideration the long waiting time in depositing the tax and the difficulties being faced by property owners and occupiers.

He added that the Department of Assessment and Collection has made adequate arrangements to facilitate property owners and occupiers in depositing the tax, but the crowd has been surging.

Shikha Rai, chairperson, SDMC Standing Committee stated that the 15 per cent rebate on payment of property tax within the extended date of July 15 will continue.

Additionally, an additional rebate of two per cent on online payment of property tax amounting up to Rs 10,000 will also be available to property owners, property occupiers and owners of vacant plots.
