SDMC carries out sealing, anti-encroachment drive

New Delhi: Intensifying its ongoing drive, South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) on Wednesday carried out an anti-encroachment as well as sealing drive in all its zones, resulting in sealing of eight properties and large-scale demolition of encroachments, seizures of vehicles as well as vacating 3,000 sq feet of government land.
In SDMC's South Zone, anti-encroachment drive was seen near CNG Pump Vasant Kunj, Malviya Nagar Main Market and Khirki Sansthan Bhavan, while three vehicles, five kiosks, three tandoors and 150 articles were seized.
Twenty temporary structures, five tin sheds, two kiosks and two temporary structures of mechanics were also razed.
Under the sealing drive, seven properties at 22 points for misuse in stilt parking were sealed in CR Park.
In West zone, anti-encroachment drive was carried out from District Centre to Dwarka More and Club Road. An area from Uttam Nagar to Dwarka was revisited to remove encroachers and vendors, who had again set up shops.
Anti-encroachment drive was also conducted in Central Zone, from Baba Fateh Singh Marg and Govindpuri Metro station to Majidia Hospital.
Under the Najafgarh Zone, anti-encroachment drive was conducted in Sector-12 Dwarka and encroachment at a 450 sq feet government land was removed. Many permanent and temporary structures were also removed.
From Mahipalpur Shiv Mandir to Old Pandit Mohalla, encroachments from both sides of roads were removed and a five km public road and 2,500 sq feet government land were vacated.
Under sealing action, properties at seven areas in Vasant Kunj was sealed and unauthorised portions were demolished.
