Satyendra Jain inaugurates 180 extra beds at RGSSH
New Delhi: In a bid to boost the critical care services for the people of northeast Delhi and adjoining areas, Health Minister Satyendra Jain inaugurated 180 extra beds (including respiratory ICU unit with various amenities) with in inpatient services at Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital (RGSSH), Tahirpur, a step which finally may reduce the load on the nearby Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital.
On Tuesday, Jain inaugurated the 180-bed facility in the hospital and also new services including School of Pulmonology with Sleep Center, Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Advanced Laboratory Services, CT Scan and Digital Radiography System. The hospital, which was inaugurated 10 years ago, barely has the required 'specialised' staff and facilities to cater to the treatment goals they were expected to achieve. Till now, the hospital is only partially able to perform laboratory tests for cardiology, neurology, nephrology and gastroenterology, in which it is supposed to 'specialize'.
Jain said that this hospital is Delhi's second Super Speciality hospital, which is in the list of top 10 hospitals in the country. He also said that he would try to get the hospital soon to come first in the list of top hospitals in the country. He asked the hospital officials to make room for a great gym, physiotherapy, dance, yoga and meditation at the premises of the hospital.
