Robbers wanted in 20 cases held

NEW DELHI: A team of Special Cell has arrested two wanted accused persons Mohd. Mahfooz and Mohd. Rashid nd has busted an interstate robbers gang.

With the arrest 20 cases of robbery have been worked out. One modified motorcycle, that was used in many criminal activities also recovered.

On July 23, secret information was received by special Cell that two desperate robbers, who were arrested previously in many cases in Delhi,in a bid to commit robbery at Shastri Park Pusta, would be coming from the side of Old Garhi village.

Acting on this input, a trap was laid down near the informed place where, at about 11.30p.m two persons riding on a motorcycle came there who were signalled to stop for checking, but they tried to flee, however, both of them were overpowered and apprehended by the proactive team members.

Apprehended persons disclosed their names as Mohd. Mahfooz and Mohd. Rashid. During a formal search of both persons, one sophisticated pistol of 9mm with 4 live cartridges was recovered from the possession of accused Mohd. Mahfooz and one sophisticated pistol of 7.65 mm with 5 live cartridges and one button knife was recovered from the possession of accused Mohd. Rashid.

Accordingly, a case was registered under appropriate sections of law and investigation taken up.
