Road rage twist to assault case on 19-year-old shooter in Ggn

Gurugram: A new angle has emerged in the case of assault on a 19-year-old international shooter, with Gurugram Police on Friday saying that they are now exploring the angle of road rage as well.
The incident was reported on Sunday night, wherein 19-year-old Rohan Chauhan and his friend were mercilessly beaten by iron rods, and are now in the hospital.
The incident occurred when Chauhan, and his friends Gauransh and Dhruv, were returning to Gurugram after attending a function in Bahadurgarh on Sunday night.
According to sources, the trio was asked to stop their Toyota Fortuner car by the robbers, who are believed to be five in number. Sensing apparent danger, Rohan, who was reportedly driving the car, did not stop and raced his way away from the burglars. Adamant to not let the youngsters escape, the burglars chased the car for more than 15 kilometres. As they reached the Gurugram-Jhajjar border, where the condition of the roads was poor, the three youngster were forced to get out of the car and run to save themselves.
To prevent his competition rifles kept in the car from being stolen, Rohan hid them and the car keys in a vacant piece of land and immediately began screaming for help. Sensing that the villagers were nearby and as they could not find the keys to the SUV, the enraged robbers thrashed the youth with iron rods, leaving Rohan and Gauransh severely injured.
Now, sources claim that police believed that the accused persons were not robbers, but drivers on the same road that the victims were going by.
The incident is believed to have happened after the accused got into an argument with the three youth.
