Rewarded criminal arrested in Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad: The Ghaziabad police, on late Monday night, arrested a wanted criminal carrying a bounty of Rs 25, 000 on his head from Kavi Nagar area of Ghaziabad. The accused was wanted in many cases of heinous crime including murder and robbery.

According to the police, the arrested accused has been identified as Deepak, a native of New Ghaziabad area. He was wanted in the murder of a priest at a temple in Sihani Gate area of Ghaziabad a couple of months ago.

"Acting on a tip-off, the arrest was made from a tea kiosk near railway area of Kavi Nagar in Ghaziabad on Monday late night. The accused was wanted in a murder case of a priest a few months ago and a manhunt was already launched to arrest him. Besides the murder case, the accused was wanted in a number of heinous crimes across Ghaziabad and nearby districts," said Akash Tomar, Superintendent of Police (city), Ghaziabad.
