Retired colonel granted bail

Noida: The 76-year-old retired colonel, who was arrested on August 14 on charges of molestation levelled by the ADM's wife, has been granted bail on Monday by special court SC/ST act.

On Monday, several residents of the society along with the family members of the retired colonel reach district court in the morning and stayed till he was granted bail in the evening. After fulfilling the legal formalities in the court, the army officer was out of the jail in evening.

"I am thankful to one and all for showing their support for me in my hard time. It was nice to have all the public support. Several people have also come to the court in my support. As far as truth is concerned, it will come out eventually," said retired colonel Virendra Pratap Singh.

Singh, a resident of sector 29 of Noida, was arrested on August 14 along with three other associates for allegedly trying to kidnap and harass his neighbour, the wife of an ADM.
