Relative conspired with friends to loot gas agency collection agent

NEW DELHI: When a gas agency cash collection agent was robbed, everyone thought it might be the work of robbers. However, the investigation revealed that one of his own relatives conspired with his friends to loot the victim. One of the arrested five is a food delivery boy.

Cops received information about the armed robbery from Bindapur on November 20 that a man who was carrying cash of his gas agency. The complainant, SatpalGautam, resident of Uttam Nagar, reported that he was robbed of his scooty, after an assault, which had a cash bag in its dickey. Though the scooty was found abandoned at a secluded place, the cash bag and other items were missing from it. The bag was also containing few documents, including Driving License of the complainant and RC of the scooty.

It took Delhi Police a single day to crack the case when they arrested five members of the gang who looted the victim.On interrogation, they were identified as Shakti from Bahadurgarh Haryana, Amit Kumar from Uttam Nagar, Ankit from Jind Haryana, Vineet from Tilak Nagar and Sandeep from Jhajjar Haryana. On their search, two sophisticated country-made pistols and five live rounds were recovered along with one buttondar knife.

"Accused Amit Kumar lives in Delhi on rent. Earlier, he lived with his relative SatpalGautam, cash-carrying agent of a gas agency. During the stay, he was often scolded by Satpal Gautam on many pretexts. Hence, he developed a grudge towards Satpal Gautam and decided to teach him a lesson by getting him beaten, and robbed. He discussed it with his friends who promised to help him," said Anto Alphonse, DCP Dwarka.
