Gurugram: Taking cognisance of the fee hike by most of the private schools in Gurugram, the Punjab and Haryana High Court has directed the Haryana government to reconstitute another fee and fund regulatory committee.
The old committee that was formed in 2015 will continue to function till the end of this year. The next hearing on the matter is slated to be held by February-end where the new panel will provide a roadmap of how they wish to deal with the challenge of fee hikes.
Various schools on pretext of enhancement of facilities and implementation of seventh pay commission had increased their school fees. This has led to thousands of parents protesting against such schools not only in Gurugram but also in Delhi. Even on Wednesday, a protest march was staged against a private hospital for rollback of the fee hike initiated by its management.
There have been relentless protest by parents on the fee hike and violations by various private schools.
Taking note of the anger the FFRC had directed over 50 private schools in Gurugram to submit the Form-6 so that it can be ascertained of the fees charges and cost incurred by the educational institutions. Recently the committee allowed one of the private schools to increase its fees.
