Ravi Shankar Prasad's media advisor's residence burgled
New Delhi: The residence of the Media Advisor of Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad was allegedly burgled and about Rs 50,000 along with other valuable items were stolen in Rohini, the police said Tuesday.
A case has been registered in this regard. The house is close to Rohini (South) police station. The incident occurred on the intervening night of September 24 and 25, they said.
N N Kaul, the Media Advisor of Ravi Shankar Prasad, was at his daughter's place in Noida at the time of the incident and he got to know about the burglary this morning after he received a call from his neighbour.
"The neighbours noticed broken windows of the house and called us," Kaul said. Visible items worth lakhs of rupees have been missing from Kaul's house. "From what I can figure out, two LED TV, decoration items, Rs 50,000, jewellery, Laptop and at least a dozen expensive sarees have been missing", said Kaul.
Sources claimed that one of the neighbours come down from my morning walk when he noticed that the grill of a window of Kaul's house was fallen. Kaul was alerted and also the local police.
According to the police, a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal code has been registered and they were scanning footage from CCTV cameras in nearby areas in search of clues.
"The back door of the house was found to be open so it is suspected that the thieves entered from the window and took away the valuables through the back door. We also suspect the involvement of a close relative who knew that the owner of the house was away. Further investigation is underway," police sources said.
Based on a complaint, a case was registered at the south Rohini police station, police said, adding that the matter is being probed.
