Rail passenger dies of heart attack at Dadri railway station
Greater Noida: A 58-year-old man, travelling from Delhi to Ranchi, died of a cardiac arrest after he reportedly failed to receive medical aid while travelling in a train on Saturday night.
Family members of the deceased claimed that the ambulance failed to reach Dadri railway station here, even after the train was halted for nearly 40 minutes at the station.
According to police, the deceased, identified as Shiv Vachan Prasad, boarded the train going from Delhi to Hatiya in Jharkhand from Anand Vihar railway station along with his family.
During the journey, he was struck by an acute chest pain soon after the train passed Ghaziabad railway station, following which the train was halted at Dadri.
"As the information was conveyed to us, we immediately alerted the station master of Dadri railway station, where the train was stopped. The station master called for a medical team and an ambulance, who declared Prasad dead as soon as he was brought off the train," said Sanjay Singh, sub-inspector, government railway police, Dadri.
The officer added that body of the deceased was handed over to the family after getting the autopsy done and they are looking into the matter so as to find out who is at fault.
