Rahul leads Cong 'padyatra' in Delhi on Gandhi Jayanti

New Delhi: Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi led a ''padyatra'', on the occassion of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, which was attended by a huge number of party workers here on Wednesday. The padyatra that was named 'Gandhi Sandesh Yatra' began from Delhi Congress Office Rajiv Bhavan at Deendayal Upadhyay Marg and headed at Rajghat, about three kilometres away. The motive of the yatra was aimed to send a message to "redeem Gandhiji, Gandhism and Gandhi's India in our country today." After reaching Rajghat, Congress President Sonia Gandhi addressed the party workers. The march also witnessed a model depicting the Gandhi Ashram on the banks of Sabarmati river in Gujarat and his iconic wooden spinning wheel.
