Radio station employee dies as car falls into drain

Noida: A 26-year-old group sales manager with 93.5 Radio Mirchi died after she lost control of her over-speeding Sedan and fell into a 10-foot deep drain after colliding with the footpath on late Tuesday night.
According to Noida police, the incident took place at Sector-85 roundabout when the victim Tania Khanna, a resident of Kavi Nagar area of Ghaziabad, lost control over the vehicle and while taking a turn.
The car fell into a deep drain and a nearby nursery owner immediately called police.
"Police received the information around 2.30 am and rushed to the spot. Fire services and crane were called to take out the car from the drain. It took around half an hour for the rescue operation. The windshield of the car was broken and the victim was found in the back seat. She was rushed to Yatharth Hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead," said
Satendra Kumar Rai, station house officer, Phase-2 police station.
Cops added that Khanna was heading towards her friend's house in sector 137.
Doctors at the hospital said that she drowned in the water after getting stuck in the car.
Police informed the victim's relatives and ruled out the possibility of her being drunk. The body was sent for postmortem and reports are awaited.
Khanna lived with her family in Kavi Nagar area and had recently completed her Master in Business Administration (MBA) in Retail Management from Amity Business School.
She was a part of marketing team and held the position of Group Manager (Sales) at Radio Mirchi.
