Protest erupts over murder of Bajrang Dal activist in Noida
Noida: Following the murder of a 25-year-old Bajrang Dal activist in Sector-8 of Noida late Thursday night, the family members of the deceased and several activists of the right wing organisation held a protest outside Sector-20 police station on Friday morning.
Police said that two bullets were shot into the cheast of the deceased, identified as Ajay Chaudhary, a resident of Noida's Sector-8.
On Thursday night, Sarfaraz, one of the accused who was acquainted to Chaudhary, had called him out of his house and taken him to the road where the other accused were waiting. "All the accused caught hold of him and shot him in the chest, before fleeing," a senior police officer said.
The victim's family claimed he was killed as he had complained to police and local authorities about gambling, illegal liquor trade, drug trafficking by the accused.
On Friday, scores of protesters reached Sector-20 police station and demanded strict action against the culprits and sought compensation for the family of the victim.
