Property dispute: Brothers kill each other in Civil Lines
NEW DELHI: Two brothers who entered into a scuffle over a suspected property
dispute in Civil Lines shot each other with a single pistol in Delhi's Civil Lines on Sunday night.
The two victims, identified as Tanuj (27), Rahul (34), were rushed to a nearby hospital where the doctors declared both of them brought dead. "It is suspected that first Tanuj shot at his elder brother Rahul but in the close scuffle which followed, Tanuj too received a gunshot injury which proved fatal," said a senior police officer.
The incident was caught on a CCTV camera where the elder brother was seen
lying on the street outside the house after being shot, after which the younger brother fired another shot with a pistol and ran away.
There was no eyewitness during the incident but the whole episode got
captured in a CCTV, which proved as crucial evidence
for the cops to investigate the case.
Tanuj is said to have a
dubious record and was carrying a pistol to eliminate his brother. However, his brother Rahul who managed to get hold of the pistol in the scuffle returned the fire and killed Tanuj. Tanuj could barely walk a few meters before he collapsed.
When a call was made to the police, a team of police officers reached the spot and inspected the crime scene.
Both the brothers were rushed to the hospital but both succumbed to their injuries. Three empty cartridges were found from the spot.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem and
investigation is being done.
