Prominent diplomat Eenam Gambhir's phone snatched

New Delhi: Delhi Police on Monday said that bike-borne men snatched the mobile of Eenam Gambhir, the first Secretary in the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations.
No arrest have been made in the case so far, cops added.
The incident occurred on Saturday when Gambhir had gone for a walk in Rohini with her mother.
The accused snatched the phone from her hand on the pretext of asking for directions, police said.
Gambhir could not note down the motorcycle's registration number as the sun was low, cops said.
In her complaint, the diplomat said that the accused asked her for directions to Hanuman Mandir. When she started pointing towards the temple while holding her phone, they snatched the phone and fled.
Gambhir stated that her iPhone had a US-registered SIM card and some important files related to her work, police added.
"We have registered a case and are making efforts to trace the suspects. We have formed several teams and we're scanning footage from available cameras in the area," said a senior police official.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rohini) Rajneesh Gupta said no arrests have been made yet. Gambhir came to national attention in September this year when she exercised India's right to reply after Pakistan Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi raked up the Kashmir issue at the UN General Assembly.
Gambhir had made a strong rebuttal, Pakistan a "terrorist nation".
In September this year, Ukrainian Ambassador Igor Polikha's mobile phone was also snatched while he was taking pictures of the Red Fort, following which a man was nabbed.
