Noida: A five-month pregnant woman, who had been reported missing for the past two days, was rescued by Noida police on Saturday night.
Police said that the woman was found with her hands bound and face shut with tape at her husband's house in Challera Village in Sector 44 of Noida.
After rescuing her she was admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment. Three people have been arrested so far while two family members including her husband are still absconding, police said.
According to the police, the arrested accused were identified as Charan Singh, his wife Babli and son Moni, while the victim's husband Gaurav and his sister are absconding.
According to victim's family, they received a call on Thursday evening from the house of their daughter's in-laws, claiming that their daughter had left the house without informing anyone and her number is also not reachable.
"We rushed to their house and started searching for her in the locality. However, we could not find her. On Friday morning, we lodged an FIR against the in-law as we suspected them of killing our daughter and hiding her body," said the victim's father.
The family alleged that ever since their daughter's marriage, the accused family had been torturing her for dowry.
Police said after receiving the complaint, they started investigating the case. During initial question, the statements of the accused family members were found to be dicey.
"On Saturday night, we raided the factory of the accused husband Gaurav and found the victim inside a dingy room where her hands were tied with a rope and her mouth was wrapped a tape. She was rescued and rushed to a nearby hospital," said a police officer.
