New Delhi: A 46-year-old woman who came from Bihar to Delhi only to commit robbery in the houses after getting entry as a fake maid was arrested from Bihar. Police claimed that recently the accused had attacked an old woman in West Delhi with the intention to kill and then she robbed jewellery and cash from the victim's residence.
According to police, on May 24 a PCR call regarding a robbery at the house in Janakpuri was received at police station. On enquiry, it was revealed that some unknown persons seriously hit on the head of the old woman who was lying in the pool of blood and was taken to the nearby hospital.
Police claimed that the house was found to be robbed of jewellery worth Rs 25-30 lakh and cash. After enquiry, it came to notice that one domestic help was employed about a couple of days back but she was not verified. No details of the help was with the family members. She was found to be missing after the incident. The accused was later identified as accused Puja alias Sabia Khatoon, a native of Siwan in Bihar. The teams conducted raids at Barharia in Siwan but accused was also found absconding from her house with family members. "After continuous raids, accused Khatoon was arrested after giving a chase about 5 KM away from her house in the farm near a chimney of bricks and recovered almost all the robbed jewellery and cash dumped in her house," said a senior police officer.
Police claimed that accused used to roam in posh colonies in search of the houses where she could execute her plan. She entered their house as domestic help and won their confidence. "She never provides her IDs or phone numbers to house owners to avoid her identity. After gaining the confidence of the house owner, she used to decamp with the stolen/robbed articles," said the police officer.
In the present case, she was caught red-handed by the landlady, while she was stealing the jewellery and cash from the Almira fearing being nabbed, she hit the landlady with the intention to kill her and decamped with the cash and jewellery items to her native place Barhariya, Bihar. "She has disclosed lots of similar kind of offences in various areas of Delhi," police said adding that after every crime she went back to Bihar with the looted amount and after the amount was over she again returned to the National Capital.
The team of police station Janakpuri was led by Inder Lal, SHO (Janakpuri).
