New Delhi: Three teams of Crime Branch of Delhi Police raided three different places in the Capital in search of the factories and godowns of the accused who was the owner in the case where 17 persons died after a fire broke out inside the factory in Bawana area of Rohini district on January 20. Highly placed police sources told Millennium Post that one godown was found which was sealed by the team whereas they are raiding three other places in the National Capital.
"The godown was filled with explosive materials," said the police source. A senior official for Crime Branch confirmed the raid but did not disclose the places where the raids were going on as it can hamper the investigation. Police sources claimed that during interrogation the accused claimed that they have started the business a few months ago and they do not have any idea about how to handle the high amount of explosives.
During the interrogation, the accused also claimed that they do not have any permanent business. They used to change the business. Apart from the workers who died in the blaze, the accused claimed that they do not have any more workers but police suspect that the accused were telling lie and they might have more workers.
Investigators have also come through the name of few persons who were linked to the accused and they have been told to join the probe as soon as possible. "Few of them are the persons who were involved in supplying the explosives to the accused and the people in the supply chain of the explosives are also to be questioned," said a police source. If the investigation revealed any minor working in the factory the section will be added in the case. Another angle which the Delhi Police has been investigating in the Bawana factory case is whether any minor was working in the factory.''So far they have not claimed about any minor working in the factory," said a police source. The probe in the case is being monitored by DCP (crime) Joy Tirkey himself.
Delhi Police also asked more than half-dozen questions related to the incident from the two accused to check their versions but the answers given by them was similar.
