Police nab two criminals after encounters in Greater Noida
Greater Noida: In two separate encounters in Gautam Buddh Nagar district, the police nabbed two dreaded criminals from Bisrakh and Greater Noida police station areas of Greater Noida, said police.
According to police, both the encounters took place on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday. In the first encounter that took place post midnight near Mihir Bhoj roundabout in Bisrakh area of Greater Noida, police nabbed a criminal who was wanted in over one and a half dozen cases of loot, robbery and other heinous crimes, in and around Gautam Buddh Nagar district.
"During routine police checking, police signaled two persons travelling on a motorcycle to stop, instead, they opened fire on the police party and tried to run away. In retaliatory firing, one of the criminal, identified as Sonu, sustained bullet injury in his leg while his accomplice managed to flee taking advantage of the darkness," said Nishank Sharma, Circle Officer, Bisrakh.
The officer said that they have recovered a country made pistol with three live cartridges and a motorcycle from the possession of the accused.
In another encounter, that took place on the same night, the police team from Greater Noida police station nabbed a criminal who was wanted in a car loot incident in Knowledge park area of Greater Noida.
"Based on the information received, police arrested accused Firoz, who was wanted in a robbery incident, after an encounter with police Kasna village area. We have also recovered the Hyundai Accent car which was robbed by the criminals a few hours before the arrest," said a senior police official. The officer said that around nine cases of loot, robbery and attempt-to-murder are registered against the arrested accused. The police have recovered a country made pistol with two cartridges and the stolen Accent car.
