Police arrest second accused

Gurugram: Farrukhnagar police on Friday arrested another accused, identified as Lalit, involved in the gang-rape of a 19-year-old college girl.
Police officials have also recovered the vehicle inside which the incident took place.
On Thursday night, the police had arrested Pawan, the other accused.
Pawan and Lalit will now be charged under sections 362 (abduction), 376-D (gang-rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC.
Police said both the accused, in their early 20s, have confessed to the crime.
The vulnerability of women in and around Gurugram came to the forefront again when the victim, a first year BA student, was abducted and gang-raped by two men in Farrukhnagar on January 15.
According to the Inspector Karan Singh, SHO, Farrukhnagar police station, the survivor belonged to Kandewala village and used to be stalked regularly by the perpetrators, who are residents of an adjoining village.
While she was on her way to college, the duo followed her and forcibly dragged her into the car and took turns to rape her.
They later abandoned her in a desolate spot, but not before threatening her to not report the incident.
The victim, however, gathered courage and informed her parents about her ordeal, after which a formal complaint was registered on Wednesday.
A similar case was reported from Faridabad, where two men, reportedly under influence of alcohol, abducted a woman and took turns to rape in their SUV for two hours.
