Physically-challenged girl raped by three in Sahibabad

Ghaziabad: A 17-year-old physically-challenged girl was allegedly gang-raped by three men, an auto driver and his two friends, inside an apartment of a residential complex in Sahibabad area of Ghaziabad on late Wednesday night, said police.
The woman was going to her house in Nandgram area of Ghaziabad when the incident took place. Police have registered an FIR and have arrested one of the accused.
Police said that the arrested accused has been identified as Ravi, a native of Baghpat district. The two accused took the girl to Ravi's flat where they raped her.
According to police, the incident took place when the physically-challenged girl, with a disabled leg, was waiting for an auto at old bus stand of Ghaziabad while returning from her office at around 11 pm on Wednesday. The girl worked at a company in Ghanta Ghar area of Ghaziabad and boarded a shared auto from the bus stand to her house in Nandgram area.
Two persons including the auto driver were present in the auto when the girl boarded. The driver did not stop at Nandgram area and the duo of accused forcefully took her to their friend's apartment in Garima Garden society of Sahibabad. All the three accused took turns to rape her before her shouts for help were heard by the neighbours heard who made a PCR call to inform police about the incident.
"As we received the information, a police team raided the spot and arrested one of the accused while two other managed to flee the spot. The girl has been sent for the medical examination, reports of which are awaited," said Rakesh Kumar Singh, station house officer, Sahibabad police station.
A case of rape and also POCSO act has been registered at Sahibabad police station.
"We have registered a case under IPC section 376D (punishment for gang rape) and relevant sections of POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) act against a named and two unnamed persons. We have deployed teams to nab the culprits and have started investigating form all angles," added Singh.
