Padmaavat: Ggn SIT to grill Suraj Pal Amu

Gurugram: The special investigating team (SIT), set to investigate the violence in Sohna on January 24, will interrogate Karni Sena general secretary Suraj Pal Amu who was arrested by the Gurugram police on January 26 on charge of inciting violence.

Amu, who is a staunch critic of Sanjay Leela Bhansali - directed period drama, 'Padmaavat' in the past, had made a lot of controversial remarks with regards to the film.

Having faced immense criticism for not able to prevent the violence on Wednesday last, the Gurugram public administration is trying hard that there is no further let down in the law and order.

According to Gurugram police there have been a total of seven cases that have been registered so far with regards to Padmavat agitation. During the course of investigation 38 miscreants, who were involved in violent incidents, have been arrested. Besides, 14 people have been detained as preventive measure.

There was no major reprieve for Amu even on Friday as his judicial custody was extended till January 29.
