Over 65 criminals committed crime after coming out of jail
New Delhi: Even after the jail term, the criminals did not mend their ways. In a recent meeting between the top brass of Delhi Police, it was revealed that more than 65 criminals committed crime after coming out of jail.
According to police sources, the meeting, held on the first week of August at Delhi Police Headquarters (PHQ), was headed by Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik.
"Several law and order issues including monitoring of jail release of dacoits, robbers, snatchers, dreaded criminals were discussed between officers," sources added.
Sources told Millennium Post that nine districts of Delhi Police these criminals. In Outer-North district, as many as 22 such criminals were found whereas in West Delhi, more than 10 offenders were identified.
"In seven districts, there are more than 30 such criminals," sources said.
The police chief also reviewed the present status of criminals in Delhi.
Sources further stated that more than 2,000 criminals were found present in the jurisdiction of districts and units.
As many as 88 criminals were found absent. More than 2,700 were released from jail and 2,266 were verified by the law enforcement
agency.
Sources further added that there is a possibility that more than 800 criminals can be extern from the city boundaries.
Sources said that Delhi Police has also identified the people with criminal records and initiated the externment process.
According to the senior officer, they initiate externment proceedings to ensure that criminals are out of the area and are unable to create trouble.

The police had also booked several criminals under Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act, 1999 (MCOCA).
A recent data of districts and one unit revealed that 16 proposals under MCOCA are under process whereas more than 30 persons were arrested by Delhi Police under the act from 2018.
"More than 20 cases were also registered under the act," sources said.
In one of the crime review meetings, senior officers were told that whenever a bad character comes out of the jail, proper track should be kept on his activities.
In the case of a repeat offence by jail released criminal, robber, snatcher, bad character (BC), an accountability analysis of division/beat staff and SHO must be done by district DCPs.
