Over 10,000 suspicious voter additions in New Delhi: AAP

New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has raised serious concerns over widespread voter fraud in the New Delhi Assembly constituency, accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of attempting to manipulate the upcoming elections. AAP leaders, including Chief Minister Atishi, MPs Raghav Chadha and Sanjay Singh, presented startling evidence of tampered voter rolls.
Speaking at a press conference, CM Atishi revealed that over 10,500 applications to add new voters and 6,167 to delete existing ones were submitted after the Election Commission’s summary revision process ended. She explained, “In the New Delhi Assembly constituency, which has approximately one lakh voters, between December 15 and January 2, applications for adding 10,500 new voters were submitted.” She further emphasised that such a large number of additions could “completely alter the election outcome.”
Atishi also highlighted the suspicious deletion applications, noting that 4,283 deletions were filed by just 84 individuals. “Every single objector denied submitting any application to delete votes,” she said, suggesting widespread misuse of personal identities. In some cases, individuals whose names were used for deletions denied any involvement. “This is a large-scale scam to manipulate the voter list in the New Delhi Assembly constituency,” she added.
AAP’s Raghav Chadha accused the Election Commission of inaction despite clear evidence of manipulation. He demanded, “100 per cent verification of objectors, house-to-house surveys, public disclosure of applicant details, and telephonic confirmations to prevent further fraud.”
MP Sanjay Singh criticised the BJP, claiming they feared a significant defeat in the constituency and resorted to fraud. “The BJP knows they will face a massive defeat in Arvind Kejriwal’s New Delhi constituency, so they are fraudulently manipulating elections,” he said. He also pointed out discrepancies in the voter deletion process, noting that “11 out of 11 objectors have stated that they did not submit any applications.”
AAP has written to the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), demanding immediate action and a meeting to address the issue. They are calling for stringent measures to halt the fraudulent activities and ensure fair elections in New Delhi.
The party’s leaders have vowed to continue their fight against what they describe as an organised attempt to undermine the democratic process in the Capital.
