'Operation Clean' relaunched in Gautam Buddh Nagar

G B Nagar: Once again the Gautam Buddh Nagar Police is undertaking its drive "Operation Clean" which is aimed to curb various illegal activities going around the district. In Wednesday's drive, the police have arrested 21 persons and recovered over two dozen stolen vehicles after conducting raids at shops of various scrap dealers in the twin cities of Noida and Greater Noida.

Senior cops said that all the police stations of the district were directed to conduct searches at various identified scrap warehouses.

"Around 100 teams were formed who conducted search at 49 spots in rural area and 51 spots in urban area. The drive was initiated to look for the stolen vehicles. In an eight hours drive starting from 12 pm to 8 pm on Wednesday, police teams recovered 26 two wheelers, four four wheelers and arrested 21 persons," said a senior police officer.

The officer further said that police received tip off that the vehicle lifters usually sell the stolen vehicles to scrap dealers who dismantle the vehicle and sell it in parts.
