Online sanction of building plans gains momentum

The three Municipal Corporations of Delhi (MCDs) have announced that the new online building plan sanction system through a scientifically developed Common Application Form under a single window system has gained desired momentum.

SDMC Commissioner, Puneet Kumar Goel, on Sunday stated that the online building plan sanction scheme has immensely simplified the process apart from reducing the time being taken in sanctioning the building plans and visits to the offices of the Corporation.

"This is a unique system which has eliminated human interface by providing online submission of the applications along with the minimum number of documents and facility to make payment online after using online calculator for this purpose," he said.

The Commissioner further stated that the three Corporations sanctioned 139 plans on the same day of filing online application.

Another 268 plans were sanctioned between 2 to 7 days of submitting online application.

A table below gives an account of plans sanctioned by the three corporations during the months of January, February and March 2017, in all 547 plans have been sanctioned during this period.

He added that the SDMC created a record of sanctioning building plan in the shortest possible time of 27 minutes 13 seconds. The deemed sanction will be issued after pendency of 30 days.

It may be recalled that the SDMC being nodal corporation for online building plan has undertaken major reforms to offer a common application form online.
