One worker dead another injured after fire breaks out at Narela factory

One person was killed while another injured in a major fire that broke out in a plastic factory in Narela, during the early hours of Saturday.

It was reported that six labourers were inside the factory when the fire broke out and two of them got struck.

The deceased was identified as Koski Nandan, a resident of Narela.

The other injured worker is undergoing treatment at a hospital.

The fire services were informed around 12 pm on Friday and soon several 32 fire tenders rushed to the spot. The fire was so major that it spread to a few adjoining factories as well.Some of the local residents and factory workers too gathered at the spot.

The fire was finally doused after around nine hours by firefighters. Both the victims are workers of the factory.

Personnel of the fire department carried out cooling operations for a few hours after the fire was doused.

Police said the number of casualties could have been much higher had the fire broke out at any other time of the day. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
