One killed, another critical as motorcycle rams into divider
Ghaziabad: A 25-year-old youth was killed while another boy riding pillion got critically injured after one of the tyres of their motorcycle got punctured and it collided with the divider at Delhi-Meerut highway in Muradnagar area of Ghaziabad on late Wednesday
night.
According to police, the deceased has been identified as Neeraj while injured person was identified as Amit (24).
Cops said that both the victims were on a road trip to Haridwar from Delhi along with their two other friends on two separate motorcycles.
"The incident occurred around 1 am and victim's friends took them to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared Neeraj dead on arrival while Amit's condition is stable now. One of their friends informed police and a team rushed to the spot and took the body into custody which was sent for post mortem," said Umesh Bahadur Singh, Station House Officer (SHO) of Muradnagar police station.
Cops said that Neeraj was driving the vehicle while Amit was riding pillion.
"The deceased was not wearing helmet while initial investigation revealed that all youths were in drunk condition" a senior police officer said.
Police officials informed that Neeraj worked as a wedding photographer while Amit is a worker in a local factory in Delhi.
