NSG officer booked for molesting minor
Gurugram: A National Security Guard (NSG) commando accused of molesting an 11-year-old girl on the unit's campus in Manesar was arrested on Saturday.
The accused identified as Havaldar Parvind Kumar was produced in a city court and remanded in judicial custody.
The girl's mother had approached the group commander, NK Sharma, who lodged a complaint at the women's police station in Manesar.
Kumar had been detained for questioning on Friday and was arrested after he reportedly admitted to having touched the girl inappropriately.
According to the complaint, the woman had sent her daughter to the NSG canteen to buy curd on July 15. As she was coming out of the canteen, Kumar allegedly molested her.
The child rushed back home and told her mother that "an uncle" had touched her inappropriately.
The woman approached the group commander. CCTV footage was examined and a case was filed.
Following the complaint by Sharma, an FIR was registered under Section 10 of the Pocso Act at the women's police station on Thursday.
Police declined to divulge details of the case as sensitive. Police spokesperson Subhash Bokan, however, said Kumar had been arrested and sent to judicial custody on Saturday. Neither the NSG nor the police issued any statement.
