Left in the lurch for over past eight years, the home buyers of Noida and Greater Noida finally got a chance to present their grievances in front of the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath on Thursday.
"This is the first time in past eight years that any Chief Minister of UP has sought to consider the issues of home buyers at first and has assured us that our issues will be resolved at the earliest," said a home buyer who was present in the meeting.
Along with CM Yogi, Noida's MLA Pankaj Singh, Minister of Industry Satish Mahana and Chief Executive Officer of Noida and Greater Noida Authority Amit Mohan Prasad were also present in the meeting.
There is a wave of satisfaction among the home buyers after interacting with the chief minister.
"We are thankful to Noida MLA Pankaj Singh who managed to plan this meeting. Around fifteen homebuyers including representatives of various buyers' association were present in the meeting. Earlier we have written several letters to the previous chief ministers of Uttar Pradesh, but never got any revert from them. For the first time it has happened that the chief minister along with senior officials of district authority have met us officially," said Indrish Gupta, Founder, Noida Extension Flat Owner's Welfare Association (NEFOWA).
"After the 30 minutes roundtable conversation held with Yogi Ji in his office at Lucknow, we are satisfied with his response. Yogi Ji has directed the CEO of Noida and Greater Noida Authority to form an investor's cell where the issues of home buyers will be resolved in particular time. He also asked the CEO to take strict actions against any builder if he is troubling a buyer. Based on the assurance given by CM, we are expecting that the government will focus on home buyers' interest rather than focusing on the interests of the builders as previous governments were doing," added Gupta.
The home buyers expressed their concern over delayed promises and breach of trust by several builders. They also expressed their financial concerns as most buyers are under the double burden of paying EMIs and house rents.
The CM has also assured that strict action will be taken against any builder if the buyers complain to them about any breach of trust or illegal construction.
